This idea literally started on a couch with a beat repeating in the background while watching the movie! Thats the double truth ruth! I'm a child of the nineties and by-product of the late eighties so this musical rendition is not the super-jazzy musical political clash protrayed on screen... However, this is parallel my musical journey through time coinciding with key elements of the feature film.

The long awaited beat tape from TenEightyP. All these beats are from 2011-2013 just expressions of the mind in reaction to the world. The title was inspired loosely by Samuel Jackson's role in Spike Lee's 1989 cult classic "Do The Right Thing". The film shed light on racial climate however from this I gathered the diversities of people and how they collaborate to make the American experience.

With that said I set out to find as many of the off-the-wall projects I had and intermix them with the sound that I set to create. The result, for better or worse, is this beat tape. From samples to original melodies to drums and snares...

The dream is harmony.
